Biography
Lisa Katic, R.D. is Senior Food & Health Policy Advisor at the Grocery Manufacturers of America (GMA) in Washington, D.C. She develops and implements GMA's scientific, technical and regulatory programs in a number of areas,including nutrition, food allergy, biotechnology and food labeling.
Prior to GMA, Ms. Katic was Associate Director of Food Safety for the International Food Information Council in Washington, DC. In that position, she was in charge of planning, implementing and evaluating the communications programs of the association, and gave various talks to a wide variety of audiences to promote sound science in food safety and nutrition. She also has much experience in print, radio and broadcast media communications. In addition, Ms. Katic has held the position of Nutrition Education Consultant, Media Coordinator for the Dairy Council Mid East in Cleveland, OH.
Ms. Katic is an active member of professional associations, including The American Dietetic Association (ADA).
Katic holds a bachelor's degree in dietetics and nutrition from University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. She is a registered dietitian (R.D.)
