The Retailer Perspective - Join Patrick Looby, Walgreens and Marianne Timmons,
Wegmans Food Markets, for a panel discussion moderated by Pamela Stegeman, vice
president, supply chain & technology, Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), as they share
individual experiences on the importance - and benefits - of driving accurate data
synchronization as a collaborative foundation for supply chain efficiency.

The Manufacturer Perspective - Join Lorraine Learish, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer
Healthcare and Terry Vavrick, e-business partnership manager, The Hershey Company
during this panel discussion moderated by Patrick Walsh, senior director, industry relations,
Food Marketing Institute (FMI), as they overview highlights of the transformational business
processes and ensuing cost savings derived when they institutionalized a top-down commitment
to accurate data synchronization.

- Value Proposition for Data Accuracy - Steve Vazzano, senior director, market
development, 1SYNC and Accenture deliver highlight findings from a recent FMI,
GMA, 1SYNC sponsored study commissioned by Wegmans Food Markets and
conducted by Accenture that showcases real and immediate dollar and time benefits
attributable to accurate data synchronization for both retailers and manufacturers. Actual
cost and time savings data will be shared.
- Package Measurement Rules - Ray Delnicki, senior technical manager, GS1 US,
details Package Measurement Rules, the common method that ensure item characteristics
such as height, depth, and width are depicted in a consistent manner, regardless of
complexity. This session includes ample question and answer time.

Concurrent Breakout Sessions
- Recommendation for Weight and Measurement Tolerances - Scott Brown, customer
compliance manager, Conair, and Co-Chairman, GDSN Data Accuracy Task Force,
provides the historical background - discovery pilot findings and deliberations - that
have prompted the Data Accuracy Task Force to recommend a + / - 4 percent tolerance at
case level for weights and measures and a 0.25" tolerance for consumer unit hard and
medium packaging. Brown will also share task force plans to review industry comments
and business impact over the next 18 months and to adjust tolerances if warranted.
- Working with Problematic Packages - Ray Delnicki leads this interactive "hands on"
session. Participants are encouraged to bring difficult to deal with packages and those, or
previously digitally imaged packages, will be properly measured.
- Retailer Accurate Data Case Study - Leslie Hand, director, global RFID technology,
Ahold USA, discusses the Ahold business case for data quality, including where Ahold
found benefits and their expected savings. Leslie will also discuss overcoming barriers to
accurate data synchronization and provide compelling reasons to get on board.

- Retailer Need for Complete Data - Greg Zwanziger, senior business strategy
consultant, SUPERVALU Inc., discusses SUPERVALU's need for accurate and
complete data. This session will provide insight into SUPERVALU's business process
requirements and the efficiencies achievable when requested data is delivered by their
manufacturing partners.
- Joint Business Process Data Quality Protocol - Peter Alvarez, GS1 GDSN and
Pamela Stegeman, vice president, supply chain and technology, Grocery
Manufacturers Association (GMA), will detail JBP's Data Quality Framework and
Data Accuracy Protocol designed to ensure the quality of data sent through the GDSN
and how the incorporation of standards, along with validation and certification protocols,
will be used. Additionally, they will provide an historical overview of the Joint Business
Process Team, incepted by AIM, CIES, ECR Europe, FMI, GCI, GMA and GS1 to
ensure cross-association communication on e-collaboration initiatives such as global data
synchronization.

Super Session - Achieving an Uninterrupted Supply Chain - Bruce Hawkins, Wal-Mart
Stores, Inc. and Marianne Timmons, Wegmans Food Markets provide a collaborative
roadmap for manufacturers to work in data synchronization harmony with their retailer partners.
Moving from the item master catalogue, how are retailers using accurate attribute information to
streamline order to shelf processes currently? More importantly, what is their vision of the
uninterrupted supply chain and how can supplier partners help them achieve the goal.

- GTIN Allocation Rules - Bud Babcock, manager, product identification global
customer e-collaboration, Procter & Gamble and member of the Global Standards
Management Process (GSMP) Physical Technical Requirements Group (PTRG),
overviews the GTIN Allocation Rules and provides instruction on applying the 20
percent GTIN modification allowance or when a GTIN change is required.

Hands on Package Measurement Clinic - Ray Delnicki leads this interactive, "hands-on"
session that will incorporate actual measurement tools to determine proper weight and
measurements for problematic packages.
