    Business Transparency - The Win/Win of Collaboration
    Stand alone supply chains can no longer be successful! Joseph Andraski, President and CEO, Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards (VICS) will discuss how a supply network that incorporates buyers, sellers and third party providers, collaborating and utilizing industry standards and guidelines is the new business model that delivers results. Opportunities to improve corporate effectiveness and efficiency, using the results of a business model that demonstrates the financial performance of different retail verticals, will be highlighted. Recent research into the benefits of collaborative business practices, conducted by Oklahoma University, will be summarized, making the case for collaborative commerce.

Jim Flannery, Director, Customer Development, Procter & Gamble Global Operations, will also highlight the Global Commerce Initiative's (GCI) Global Scorecard Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for fill rate, on-time delivery, and Scorecard benchmarking capabilities.

      Diversion is here and not likely to subside any time soon. Grey markets initially began as an issue in the international trade of high-value goods, but they are now also firmly rooted at the domestic retail shelf. Nick Handrinos, Principal, CRM Practice Leader, Consumer Goods Managing Director, Deloitte Consulting, will discuss the root causes of diversion in the CG industry and outline the various strategies that manufacturers can undertake to mitigate and minimize the issue and its impacts.

      CPG companies need to leverage improved wireless coverage as a competitive advantage, using devices that have multiple methods of access. By providing more real-time information to reps in the field, as well as to retailers, companies can monitor immediate critical situations that can have an impact on the bottom line. Clay Curtis, Vice President and CIO, CROSSMARK, will present a case study showing how to use real-time information gained from mobility to improve relations with trading partners and increase sales force efficiency.

    Information Technology Investment and Effectiveness Report
    John Winstead, Partner Americas CPG, IBM Business Consulting Services, will present the results of the soon to be released "2006 GMA Information Technology Investment and Effectiveness Study", which includes a new IT complexity section and insight into IT strategies, trends and resource allocation for CPG companies. In addition, the report will highlight corporate perceptions of IT effectiveness from the corporate perspective. Of interest to logistics-minded attendees will be benchmarks delivered on plans and status for industry initiatives such as EPC/RFID, data synchronization, GTIN and GLN allocation, percent of orders transacted via EDI or XML and more.

      Simon Ellis, Supply Chain Futurist, Unilever North America; and Dr. Jon Golovin, Chief Executive Officer, T3Ci, will show how time sensitive EPC data can be fraught with imperfect reads and subject to the whims of changing external supply chains and associated context maps. Regardless of the complexities, companies must effectively interpret, filter and cleanse raw RFID data to intelligently analyze EPC data, gain vital visibility into supply chain movement within the retail partner environments, and to maximize learning and achieve business value from EPC investments.
