CAMPBELL RECEIVES AWARD FOR INNOVATION

June 11, 2005, White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. – The Associate Member Council (AMC) of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) today awarded its CPG Award to the Campbell Soup Company. The award is given annually by the AMC to companies that show superior innovation, creativity and industry collaboration.
“We are delighted to recognize Campbell Soup Company with this year’s AMC CPG Award,” said Peter Brandt, chairman of GMA’s AMC Award Committee and Vice President, Consumer Sector, Industry Solutions Group, SAP America, Inc. “Their Soup Category Leadership Plan demonstrated creativity, a willingness to take risks and, most importantly, measurable results. Our committee was impressed with the overall quality and quantity of the submissions we received, which demonstrated that innovation and creativity are thriving in the CPG industry.”
Accepting the award at the annual GMA Executive Conference, Campbell Soup Company President and CEO Doug Conant said, “We will continue to develop the Simple Meals category with new products, packaging, and merchandising solutions as well as dynamic consumer programs for creating center store excitement and growth.”
GMA also announced that E.J. Gallo Winery was honored as the first runner-up. Gallo’s submission was for an online food-wine pairing initiative developed in partnership with Albertsons.
